Annual Implementation Plan
Where are we currently:
(This is a high-level overview of where our starting place is. Include what has already been done in the previous year to meet the targets, and what will need to be done this year to address any targets that were not met last year. This could also be linked to your statement of variance.)
2025 Statement of Variance: Progress against targets (Required)
(A statement of variance shows the progress we have made over the last year towards achieving the targets set out in our annual implementation plan. It offers explanations for any differences and how you will address targets that were not achieved.)
Kura Whaanui:
After the mid-year data was shared with the Board of Trustees, the senior management team agreed to test our tamariki identified in the red zone only every 3 weeks. This strategy is a novelty to concentrate on these tamariki and try our absolute best to move these tamariki into the ‘working towards’ zone. This ensures we have this set of tamariki at the forefront of our teaching.
In addition, the Year 8 and 7 kaiako are trialing streaming. All Year 8s and 7s are grouped based on their ability. There are 3 learning groups that have been identified, i.e below, working towards, and at / above.. If this trial is successful, the same strategy will be used for our tamariki Years 6 and 5.
Kura Teina:
The testing conducted in term 3, of our tamariki in the kura teina identified in the red zone made some good shifts. As a trial, it has shown merit. In term 1 of 2026, the syndicate leaders will identify our tamariki in the red zone. We will use terms 2 and 3 to engage our tamariki in deliberate acts of teaching to move our tamariki out of the red zone and into ‘Working towards’ or better still ‘Working at.’
Kura Tuakana:
The streaming initiative trialled for our Year 8 and 7 tamariki did not achieve the desired results. All the kaiako involved needed to know how to break down the learning for the three different levels, and then build it up again to help our tamariki achieve their standard.
